Ear Infections

Treated commonly by ear drops and antibiotics, yeast infections and occurring ear issues can be problematic in dogs and cats. While antibiotics and ear drops can offer short term solutions, working to fix the issue from the inside out is always a better solution.

For pets struggling with ear issues, daily cleanings, keeping inner ear hair trimmed, can help while one is working to fix the issue. The food and treats being fed should be examined, and unnecessary starches and sugars removed. Yeast digests and probiotics can assist in helping to correct the issue.

Yeast overgrowth

A common thing that may cause ear issues in dogs and cats is the overgrowth and overabundance of yeast in the body. Yeast are organisms that feed on starch and sugar, and become problematic in animals due to immune system issues. As yeast grows out of control, it discharges from the ears, causing frequent infections. Many times there will be dark brown and reddish discharge.

Yeast ear infections can become painful and present difficulties in your pet's life. In order to counteract issues, low starch diets are recommended, and supplementation that centers on boosting the immune system help greatly.

Ear Solutions

For dogs suffering from frequent ear infections, buying ear drops overtime can become costly. The majority of ear issues are yeast based, and are from systemic yeast and fungal issues that overgrow and come out of the ears. Many times without constant care, the ear can become infected causing vestibular issues, hemotomas, as well as painful inflamed ear problems.

Making your own ear drops is easy, and very low cost.

For maintenance ear issues: 1/4 cup hydrogen peroxide, 1 clove crushed garlic, 1/4 cup white vinegar, and 1/4 cup water. 4 drops into the ear - twice to three times daily.

For therapeutic rapid relief: 1 drop oregano oil diluted in, 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar, and 1/8 cup brewed green tea. 4 drops into the ear - twice to three times daily.

Other great remedies: 500ppm colodial silver. 4 drops into the ear twice a day. Silver works to kill yeast, fungus, as well as bacteria that has populated in the ear.
